"Never let a good crisis go to waste"

A quote from Winston Churchill that bears a lot of wisdom in it. With the current Covid-19 pandemic, we are living through a kind of global crisis like we have never experienced before in our lifetime. The world as we knew it will never be the same and this may sometimes feel scary, but at the same time it is a great opportunity as we - and I really mean you and I - are responsible for how the new world will look like.

Many companies, universities and newspapers are publishing scenarios and estimates of how Corona will impact business life. Forbes is stating that healthcare will experience a shift and that eHealth (or Telehealth as they call it) will need to evolve. Another industry largely affected is EdTech, as it is predicted that distance learning is massively picking up and learning becomes increasingly virtual. Many events, even concerts, are going virtual and we are being provided with more and more technological tools to support remote work. McKinsey states in their report from 25 March 2020 that "The coronavirus crisis is a story with an unclear ending. What is clear is that the human impact is already tragic, and that companies have an imperative to act immediately to protect their employees, address business challenges and risks, and help to mitigate the outbreak in whatever ways they can”. The impact across all industries is tangible everywhere.

Now that the world is changing, we need to change. Over thousands of years we humans have learned to adapt to new surroundings, climates and predators. The new surrounding is an increasingly digital one, and the climate in business, despite of global warming, quite a chilly and stormy one. The predators that will be at the top of the food chain are those that have an open mind, react fast and are not afraid to embrace the change.

Don’t let this crisis go to waste. This may turn out to be the biggest opportunity so far for your business. Let’s buckle up together, analyze your new surrounding, strategize and dress your business to overcome the storm, execute, and then tell the story that makes you the king of our new jungle.
